Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates, PLLC has multiple locations throughout the greater Houston area.  We are looking for adult and pediatric psychiatrists that are interested in a private group practice who would eventually be equal partners.  Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates, PLLC accepts commercial carriers and has several treatment resistant programs including TMS, Spravato (esketamine) and a Physician Directed IOP.  You may learn more about our group at www.ghpa.net or contact us at 713-346-1555

General Summary of Duties: Independently licensed clinician to provide mental health services to include diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders

Supervisor: Board of Managers

Supervisory Responsibilities: Patients under your care


Major Responsibilities/Tasks:

  1. Use a variety of methods to evaluate a patient, such as interviewing the patient, their family or other people.
  2. Develop a treatment plan according to the needs of the patient and extent of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder.
  3. Treat a patient using psychotherapeutic methods and medication, monitoring the effects of any medication, and adjusting treatment where necessary.
  4. Develop and maintain clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols for psychiatric treatment.
  5. Consult with patient’s Primary Care physician, nurses, or other health care providers.
  6. Develop and maintain programs for clinical quality assurance.
  7. Provide crisis intervention when needed.
  8. Write and maintain patient and clinical records, including the type of treatment and medication administered.
  9. Keep up-to-date with professional job knowledge by reading publications, attending educational conferences or maintaining professional networks.
  10. Follow ethical and legal policies, procedures and standards.

 

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

Knowledge of the practice’s policies and procedures.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.

Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation for effective communication.

Knowledge of computer programs and applications.

Skills:

Skill in using office equipment and in handling paperwork and filing adequately.

Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.

Skill in written and verbal communication.

Skill in gathering, interpreting, and reporting insurance information.

Abilities:

Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.

Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.

Ability to communicate clearly.

Ability to work with little supervision.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment, including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Position is in a well-lit office environment. Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting.

Mental and Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking, or standing the remainder. Occasionally lifting and carrying files that can weigh up to 20 pounds. May require working under stressful conditions.
